Doron Gerber received a Ph.D. Degree from the Department of Biological Chemistry at the Weizmann Institute, Rehovot, Israel in 1995. His doctoral dissertation: The effect of membranes on protein-protein interactions was done under the direction of Professor Yechiel Shai. In 1999 he received a M. Sc. Degree with honors from the same institution with the research topic: Mechanism of pore formation By Delta-Endotoxins. In 1997 he received a B. Sc. Degree with honors from the Faculty of Life Sciences at Bar-Ilan University, Tel Aviv, Israel. He has received the following awards: The Wolf Award of excellence in PhD studies in January 2003, The Katzir-Katchalsky Student Fellowship. In February 2003, The Biophysical Society Student award in March 2003, The Biophysical Society International travel grant in March 2003 and from 2005 to present he is Fulbright Fellow at the Bioengineering Department at Stanford University. He has published a number of relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals in his area of expertise, a patent: “Peptide delivery method, using D-amino acid modifications, for down-regulating membrane protein complexes. He is also a contributor to a chapter “Delta-Endotoxin Mode of Action” in the book: "Pore-forming peptides and protein toxins" (Edited by Menestrina, G. & Lazarovici, P). This book is part of a series on "Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms of Toxin Action" published by Academic Publishers.
